Hello! ! I’m Karen Edwards and the artist behind The Red Button Press., a Letterpress and printmaking studio in Liverpool, England.
I handset wood and metal type to create posters, greetings cards, stationery and fabric items. Helping me with the printing are a variety of hand-cranked, pedal powered printing presses named Ada, Tom , Babs, Ruth, Brian and Clive. The youngest of the presses is at least 50 years old and all have had previous owners.
Being printed by hand - our creations are very environment friendly as we use recycled and FSC certified papers, card and envelopes and biodegradable packaging. Our inks are great too as they don’t need any horrible solvents to clean up.
We are all dedicated to preserving the art of Letterpress through our work, demonstrations and workshops.

Meet the Red Button Press Family
The equipment I use to create my work is one of the main features of what The Red Button Press is about. Saving these great machines from the scrap and finding use for them again in a digital world. They're all vintage as well as 99% of all the type and associated equipment needed to create my work.
